I found the movie thought-provoking, entertaining and an honest portrayal of sibling dynamics. The cinematography, editing, sound, and music round out the film nicely making it a complete work. She is obviously very interested in the human psyche and raw characters. Her last film was uplifting and this was quite the opposite but I felt there was positivity in the end if you look hard enough for it. It's a film that isn't spoonfed to you so beware if you're looking for an easy watch. This would be closer to a European film in tone. Every actor brings a different kind of tension and vulnerability to the family dynamic, and together they make the conflict feel lived-in instead of manufactured. The director handles all of it with a lot of confidence, knowing when to let a scene sit and when to let the discomfort speak for itself. What I also appreciated is how the film works beyond the family story. The arguments over money, responsibility, inheritance, and who gets to feel secure start to feel like a broader metaphor for the moment we’re living in. So much of modern life comes down to uneven distribution—of money, opportunity, stability, and even emotional labor—and the film finds a way to explore that without turning into a lecture. It feels personal and specific, but also much bigger than the characters on screen. Strong performances, thoughtful direction, and a clear point of view.
