This fantasy show revolves around a nobleman who was born a mage, but had his powers taken away at birth by his father … who may or may not actually be his father. The secret surrounding his birth runs throughout the series and is a source of contention. Go to Full Review

As far as the overwhelming positives, it’s so easy to get swept up in this world of fantasy, one so intriguing in its numerous threads that it genuinely makes the show feel like a form of escapism. Go to Full Review

With its fast-paced plotting, engaging characters and resplendent wardrobe, Alchemy of Souls was a compelling escapist fantasy that helped us fly through the sweltering summer. Go to Full Review

This larger-than-life tale has elaborate fight scenes, deadly villains, and plenty of impressive special effects but the characters lack chemistry, due largely to how unlikeable they all are. Go to Full Review

Alchemy of Souls will scratch your fantasy itch – there are spells popping off right and left. But there’s a lot of flirty comedy, too, as the young people circle each other. Go to Full Review

Betty W @Sarmatai Jan 12 A lot of fun and constant action! Captures one's interest with all of the elements of humor, intrigue, mystery, and romance. Great chemistry between the actors. 'Safe' for all audiences. Loved it so much, watched it a second time. Only negative was the final episode, which was a bit weak, but will probably watch it a third time. See more Simon T Dec 30 Ridiculously pretty cast members. You will have to get past the first couple of episodes which has lots of silly magic and special effects. However, after that, sit back and enjoy possibly the most emotionally intelligent show you'll ever see. A genuine ensemble piece where you feel every cast member was respected and treated with dignity. Yes, there are stars, but only in the performances they give - no one is bigger than anyone else. Hollywood could learn so much from this series and the way this series was made. I cant think of a series that would do with a character what they do at the end of season 1 - it fits the story and leads to a very interesting set up for season 2 but boy did I miss the person that played the part. Now one of my all time favourite shows. Thank you to the actors and all the production staff for the joy the show brought me. See more Lucia D Nov 19 La primera parte es mejor que la segunda. The fantasy world, emotional depth, and top-tier production pull you in completely. The OST is incredible, the cast flawless, and I only wish it could have lasted longer. See more Ric M Sep 8 Let’s start with Season 1. I truly like the inexperienced actress who plays Bu-Yeon/Naksu and I love the cast. The humor is greatness, as is the plot and bad guys. Now, Season 2 they changed the voice actor for Jang-Uk. That didn’t bother me. But the changed the actress for Naksu. And surprise, Jang-Uk doesn’t recognize her along with Maid Kim up close. It’s like, not only is Naksu gone as an actress but gone from everyone’s memory. I’m like, wtf. Did they use an artifact to erase that? So, season 2 dropped my 5 out of 5 to a 3.75 out of 5.
