Writers Aditi Brennan Kapil and Jim Danger Gray fill the season finale with so much energy and bombast, so many ominous-sounding phrases, that it takes a while to understand how little most of them are saying or doing.

American Gods will be back for a Season 3 (we might expect another year and a half gap) and, unless my stance on the show turns sour during that waiting period, I'll be there. There's a lot of story to unpack, and the show seems to be just vamping up.

The way [Shadow] appears to wipe reality as "Moon Shadow" draws to a close is the most significant thing we've seen so far, and it moves American Gods into an interesting new place that Neil Gaiman's wanted to go for some time now.
