DESTINY A @DIAMONDAKAFYA Feb 14 A VERY GOOD TV SERIES See more David F @dfulmer 03/16/2025 Another great true crime documentary which describes the investigation into the notorious murder through the perspectives of the people who were there. See more Dan R @RT53832531 12/25/2024 Netflix continues to set the bar for documentary series' with 'American Murder: Laci Peterson'. SYNOPSIS: 'The case of Laci Peterson's disappearance and murder shook the US in 2002. Her husband Scott was convicted, though he maintains innocence. Twenty years later, Laci's mother and friends speak out, revisiting this tragedy.' Within this Netflix presents a completely measured story, delivering insight and suspense for those unfamiliar with one of the most infamous American murder cases of the 21st century. The documentary provides a comprehensive view of both Laci and Scott's lives before her disappearance, whilst also touching on the broader issue of domestic violence against pregnant women. It's dark, it's harrowing and it's true! And that probably makes its emotional impact more powerful. Up there with Netflix's best. 9/10 See more Bob P @bobpotter50 11/23/2024 Gripping documentary of a murder mystery we know well if you were living 20 years ago. Since we all know the ending, I have to compliment the writers, director and producers for holding our attention and slowly building the case. See more Birithivy Y @RT04210749 10/26/2024 American Murder: Laci Peterson - 7/10. Before I rant about the main suspect here, I gotta say: if you fucking have cheating thoughts or notions, break up with your significant other! I despise and hate cheaters! It sickens me that people don’t have the gall and decency to just leave or divorce someone they are not in love with anymore. Why the hell do people put another person in misery by cheating and betraying their trust in love? Anyhow, this is a decent true crime docuseries which chronicles a frustrating and sad case. And in fact, I think the book and film Gone Girl probably used the husband as inspiration for Ben Affleck’s character and predicament before the big twist. What made me frustrated though was the husband. If you are oh so innocent, then why the hell wouldn’t you be frantically helping and coordinating with the cops to find your wife? If you are innocent, why does it look like you’re smirking and smiling in public at times? Why are you cracking jokes with the volunteers that are searching for your wife? Why would you tell your secret lover you’re wife is gone few weeks before she disappeared? Why would you use the nursery as a storage unit? Why in the fuck would you tell the police officers who are arresting you and taking a small food break that you want to order food along with them? Why in the world would you think the way you did your interviews the way you did would make any person believe you’re innocent? And finally, even if you’re magically and circumstantially in the wrong place at the wrong time, why wouldn’t you have just went straight to the police or made a call about the disappearance as soon as you thought there was something up? You take a shower and then drink milk and eat pizza? What the hell? See more Brian D @Brianwd 09/02/2024 78%. 8/26/24. Pregnant wife disappears, husband not initially a suspect, becomes more of one. Find out he had a mistress. All signs point to him tho it's a circumstantial case. He ends up getting a life sentence. His family still stands by he didn't kill her, but there were really no other suspects. 3/5 rewatch See more Read all reviews
