Virtually untouched since it was built more than 250 years ago, a Virginia estate registered as a National Historic Landmark is given a top-to-bottom restoration by the original owner's ancestor. Mount Airy has been in John Tayloe Emery's family for 10 generations, and now he and wife Catherine are attempting to preserve its beauty and history so one day they can pass it on to their children and grandchildren. This DIY series goes room by room during the remodel, beginning in a kitchen that has an unusually narrow, curved design. Other episodes detail an outdoor cooking and dining addition, a counting house becoming a man cave, a multifunction mud room reno, and a smokehouse built in 1761 that's converted into a bar for the Emerys' wedding business.
