He wasn't always Saul Goodman, ace attorney for chemist-turned-meth dealer Walter White. Six years before he begins to represent Albuquerque's most notorious criminal, Goodman is Jimmy McGill, a small-time attorney hustling to make a name for himself. He's a forceful champion for his low-income clients, an underdog whose morals and ambitions often clash. Jimmy works with private eye Mike Ehrmantraut, a former Philadelphia cop and recent transplant to the Southwest. Mike has a specialized skill set -- he's a "fixer" of sticky situations -- that Jimmy soon learns to appreciate.

Can’t fault anything well written and acted. Great watch if you like your stories to meander and take their time. Still has a punch to it though.

Better Call Saul can’t quite match Breaking Bad’s bursts of adrenaline, and that shadow is always there. Instead, it plays a slower, more patient game, leaning into silences, small choices and moral grey zones. Watching Jimmy McGill slowly slide into Saul Goodman is both fascinating and painful: you understand why he does what he does, even when you’d like him to stop. The show shines in its characters: Kim grows from "the girlfriend" into a brilliant, conflicted force of her own, and Mike is the weary counterpoint who’s already made peace with the life he leads. Visually, it keeps the trademark style of this universe – bold compositions, desert light, and details that tell the story without a word. It may not be as explosive as Breaking Bad, but it’s more intimate and quietly devastating. By the end, it feels like you’re saying goodbye to people you actually know, and that sticks with you.

Season 2 continues the exploration of Jimmy's moral gray areas while deepening the rivalries and relationships that shape his descent. The battle of wills between Jimmy and his brother, Chuck, intensifies, and Kim Wexler becomes more deeply involved in Jimmy's schemes. Meanwhile, Mike's storyline continues to operate somewhat separately, setting up future events.

4.5 stars; It's hard to believe, but this season is better than Season 1. Now that we've gotten to know the characters, we can get deeper into the stories. We now have 3 separate, but interconnected, plots going on at the same time. This series is so well written. It is obsessive/compulsive. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next episode. I have binged and watched the first two seasons in just over a week. I'm already anxious to start Season 3.
