As we near the end of the season, it's going to become a real struggle to maintain a realistic storyline while building up towards something dramatic for a TV show, but the writers have been up to the task so far this season.
It was a good show - but it wasn't quite the Billions I love...
It's hard to shake the feeling that they're two champion prize fighters tuning up on tomato cans before stepping into the ring for their next bout.
But in the same way that the Maltese Falcon or the "Pulp Fiction" briefcase are meaningful mostly through what people do in their name, Bobby's predicament enables an entire cast of characters and guest stars to shine.
The stakes are piling up, new villains have emerged, and the show is once again finding another gear. The endgame is in sight, and it's a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
I am delighted to report that Grigor Andolov is becoming a more interesting character/eventual antagonist for Axe!
