P B @RT77242976 Mar 18 In many ways, this is the best season of Blake's Seven. The stories are more varied and both the sets and special effects look more convincing. I always thought the original line-up was weak. Blake was a pompous, rather priggish bore, Gan was just boring and Jenna never really had the opportunity to become a three dimensional character. The show was carried by Avon and Villa, with Cally becoming more interesting in the third season. However, as much as I loved the Liberator, the series improved after it blew up. With a new producer, the fourth season was effectively a reboot and wasn't weighed down by the baggage of Blake's struggle against the Federation. A succession of different writers added new ideas and fleshed out the characters, making them more interesting. Contrary to expectations, Blake's Seven didn't need Blake or the Liberator. If only we'd had a Series Five! See more Daniel M @RT77217788 05/17/2023 Arguably the best season. The episodes are some of the best scripts and dialogue you will see on television. If you thought the previous season final could not be topped then wait until you witness this. The final episode is possibly the most memorable piece of science fiction in history. Star Trek move over. This is why the series still engages and entertains people today. See more Read all reviews
