richard g @RT44676617 03/30/2021 Disappointing. I havent read many Blandings books but I have read omst Jeeves full-length books and seen prob. all Fry-Laurie TV shows. This show doesnt hold up. One newspaper reviewer said this TV show lacks Wodehouse's authorial voice and the depth of the characters, and that the many excellent actors are wallowing without proper direction, which certainly explains why this is rather tedious than brilliant. A female character describes a persistent, lascivious, and unwanted suitor as a "prig", which, even as a Canadian, I know is the wrong word. Prig actually means a "self-righteously moralistic person who behaves as if superior to others." The script-writers are presumably English and dont know that? The pigman "Dearly Beloved" executes a dance with a four-line song that would have ended in "fuck" had he not been arrested. Wodehouse never would have stooped to such a vulgarity but I guess the script writers thought themselves better writers than Wodehouse. Wrong. See more 04/15/2020 Wonderful!
