The similarly choice pairing of Lucy Punch and Julian Barratt helps fill out a solid little ensemble cast that keeps the chuckles coming even when local crack addicts strip the van bare. Go to Full Review

Horrocks and Kayo make a delightful pairing, while Punch and Barrett excel at the comedy of cringe with their endlessly awkward exchanges. However, you're hardly likely to burst your stitches laughing in the back of this ambulance Go to Full Review

If (by halfway through, at least) Bloods remains patchily written, it is beginning to cohere and take on a charm and warmth that, with a bit of a punch-up to the script, could turn it into something well worth a weekly 22 minutes of your time. Go to Full Review

The concept of a comedy following paramedics is refreshing. With Maleek's stubborn independence paired with his vulnerability, and Wendy’s naivete contradicting her craftiness; they're a fun pair to watch navigate teamwork. Go to Full Review

While the lack of laughs in the first episode is a bit concerning, we think Bloods still has promise because of the ensemble that settles into a good rhythm almost immediately. Go to Full Review

John M 10/08/2023 Loved this series so much. Great comedy and great acting. You care about the characters. See more 03/17/2022 I love the cast and the chemistry is there. Already started watching season two and it's great to see the chemistry and timing work even better. For some folks, this is a gem of a funny little show to have a cup of tea with, and/or flowers. Hope for more seasons! -nycmousse See more Damian @TalkTeaV 02/24/2022 I'm still learning to broaden my horizons, and because of that fact, my first reaction almost caused me to walk away from this show five minutes into the episode. Honestly, I was a bit thrown off by the lead, Maleek (Samson Kayo), a very in-your-face character. Keeping in mind that I felt the same way about Michael Scott in the first episode of The Office has always served as a reminder to give similar shows a chance. Pat on the back, the advice paid off, just as Michael did, Maleek won me over. The cast of characters offers a little bit of everything and every awkward moment that catches you off guard leads to a laugh. There are about five paramedic teams, each having a funny story to follow. I referred to the series being a roller coaster ride because you are unexpectedly presented with very heartfelt moments, and quickly pull back into the comedy. Like the painfully awkward will they or won't they storyline that at first, you will cringe in laughter and later find yourself hoping for a love connection. Bloods also succeeds in reminding us of the hard work and humanity of health care workers. The writing does not depressingly bring up current events in every episode but I was reminded that the work is done by heroes. Bloods is a show worth seeing through to the end. As always, if you made it this far, thank you for reading, and if you watch the show, let me know what you think. Damian @TalkTeaV See more 01/30/2022 At first, I wasn't sure I liked any of these people but they definitely grew on me. Well, except for Kareshma, who is evil personified, although she gets her comeuppance every episode, which is nice. Excellent writing matched with pitch-perfect acting, especially from series leads Samson Kayo and Jane Horrocks. Highly recomment. Just, don't eat while you watch because they don't pull away from the horror and gore of human living and dying. See more Charles B 12/08/2021 I watched the first episode of this show, which is about the antics of an assortment of paramedics. It is very fast moving. However, even with the subtitles turned on so that I can understand what the characters are saying, it is not very funny at all. I don't think I even laughed once. See more Read all reviews
