After the novelty of the blind auditions, it turns into a grindingly dull, by-numbers talent contest. Go to Full Review

As a reality show, it is fine, watchable, well-crafted, leaving sufficient cliffhangers to keep you pressing play, though its first four episodes do begin to feel a little drawn-out and repetitive. Go to Full Review

Get ready for Building The Band to be your new comfort watch. Wholesome and packed with talent, it’s inspiring to watch these groups go from strangers to stars in such a short time. Go to Full Review

A fresh and intriguing concept that effectively blends elements of popular reality shows like Love Is Blind and The Voice. Go to Full Review

With its vocals only, visuals denied structure, Building the Band could be a novel concept in a crowded field of reality-style singing competitions. Go to Full Review

Everyone is just having so much fun. Whether the self-constructed nature of the bands lead to a more harmonious future remains to be seen, but until then, it's a riot. Go to Full Review

Annaluna A @RT15326485 Jan 13 It could have been an interesting and new sort of series. The idea of the contestants choosing each other without being able to see each other is good ~ but it gets so trite because they are almost all One Of A Kind.. same age group, same preferences, same looks . Most of them are very good looking - beautiful - and perfectly groomed. Why, I do wonder, were almost only beautiful people chosen for this show? I don’t like the music/ songs chosen, either, so of course that doesn’t make it better for me. And the boyband / girlband concept , even with choreographed dancing, I find very boring and shallow. I had thought there would be bands/singers with real artistic value and individual desires. Maybe this show is only for very Young ppl. I hope that, another time, there will be contestants of every age and style, and not only beautiful looking youngsters. That may make such a show more thrilling. See more Samara K @RT01927812 Nov 3 I thought that the first half of the season which had the auditions and the contestants choosing teammates got repetitive. Once yhe bands are formed though, it really takes off. It is amazing to see these people who chose strangers as bandmates actually forming very good bands. See more Pasquale M @RT91549467 Aug 10 A brutal expression of a generation that is as shallow and dull as it gets.. Scary to think that these 'bros' and 'gals' have the right to vote.. as they will just make this world void. Communication is beyond ghetto, dress code is unbearable.. Kids who grew up thinking that TikTok is the real world. Thank God I live in Europe. See more L. F @RT68678650 Aug 4 Very watchable! I really enjoyed how early episodes focused on individuals finding other musicians and forming their bands. This element was somewhat lost as the show progressed, with the stage performances section feeling a lot more like a straight forward talent show. It would've been great to see each band's processes a little more throughout the show - maybe have them meeting with different industry experts to help them figure out their USP a little more, develop their image, personal styles, discuss music choices, vocal arrangements, roles within the band etc. Personally, I could've done without the Connor and Alison "drama" element too, which felt a bit tacky. Otherwise a great show which hopefully gets renewed for another series! The ending was such a touching tribute to Liam Payne. See more Robert K @RT45631000 Aug 3 This was a wonderful change from the other music shows. The talent is exceptional, the judging is clear and constructive. I thought this show was a home run and I hope they do another season. Great job to the singers! See more Ronald B @RT64861579 Jul 31 Very disappointed how the 3 round went. The group that made a pinky promise should’ve been in the bottom too with the other group. Moonlight sang a lot better than iconic now. . I don’t know what people see or hearing that this is why I dislike shows like this because there’s always favoritism from the judges, not mentioning who that is or not mention any names, but she should not be allowed in any shows Moonlight should’ve been in the finals Call the favoritism from the judges They didn’t wanna look bad because they said that they can win it wrong I don’t care who Wins now.
