Spall and Keyworth sail through every scene, with the former enjoying himself in the snippets of Caesar reruns characters watch. Yes, it’s cosy, but there’s also genuine wit. Go to Full Review

What really makes the show tick is the delightful dynamic between John and Janie. Go to Full Review

This cosy crime drama could run and run – and for once, that’s not a threat. Go to Full Review

It’s easy to see why Paul Doolan’s six-episode series has already been renewed for a second season, given the strength of the storytelling and dialogue and the chemistry between the two leads. Go to Full Review

Death Valley evolves into a poem to small-town eccentricity, with some characters politely bumped off. Classic British Sunday night viewing. Go to Full Review

A funny mystery series with a good pairing at its center. Let’s hope the mysteries improve as the season goes along. Go to Full Review

Michael C @RT13290712 Apr 8 Timothy Spall is one of the great contemporary actors—anywhere you see a film or series with him in it, watch it. And Gwyneth Keyworth is brilliant: her charm is matched by great comic timing. There is nothing very serious and no real violence in this series—which is appreciated. Each episode, another body iff the to. Spall, as a retired television actor who played a detective, is enlisted by neighbour Keyworth , a detective sergeant, to help solve it. It’s fun and set in beautiful Wales and a great balm to counter the dreadful news. I only wish each season offered more than six episodes. Twelve, that would be fine. See more Sonia A. @RT43434369 Aug 19 I really enjoyed this series and hope that it gets a second season. What a joy to watch Timothy Spall and the younger actor Gwyneth Keyworth go toe to toe solving crimes through experience , humor and observation. See more Stephanie B @RT30822071 Jul 18 Fun. New ideas with cozy type mysteries. I absolutely love it and hope for many more seasons. See more Jane D @RT32809019 Jul 16 Great show. They solve interesting cases together! Love it! See more Michael J @RT99800493 Jun 28 One of the best mismatched detective teams. Keyworth is feisty and vulnerable at the same time. DCI Clarke embodies all the HR pitfalls of modern employment. After seeing so many mute solicitors, it is refreshing to see Mallowen's cousin Earon interact with her. See more Read all reviews
