Jonathan K @NojEsco 06/07/2021 Season 4 episode 6, titled 'Sharon Meyers', is the sole genuinely bad episode of the entire series, with a paper-thin and uneventful story and almost no real jokes, but not attempting to be deeper either. -- I mention this because outside of this one episode, Season 4 of Doctor Katz: Professional is very possibly the best of the entire franchise. It continues to expand the characters of Jonathan, Ben and Laura, but it does so with more Down-to-Earth, almost mundane, stories, versus Season 3's stories which attempted to be a bit more nuanced, almost to the detriment of the show's ultra-casual tone. Instead, the season feels more like a collection of random days in the lives of these characters, rather than the "most interesting" - normally this would be a bad thing, but for Doctor Katz, this actually works better. And in regards to what has not really changed: The comedy, both during therapy sessions and outside of them, is still very funny at times, the tone is still extremely pleasant, and the characters are still loveably flawed individuals. In many ways, Season 4 (along with Season 5) is ultimately the apex of this excellent series. See more Read all reviews
