Two centuries in the future, when pollution has forced humans to abandon Earth in favor of cramped space stations, scientist Devon Adair hijacks a spacecraft and sets out with a band of followers in search of another planet that will offer a brighter, more normal future to children like her son, Ulysses. Joining Devon and Ulysses are mechanic John Danziger and his daughter, True; team physician Julia Heller, who has her own secret agenda; Alonzo Solace, a pilot; Yale, a cyborg; and Morgan, a craven government agent, and his wife, Bess. The voyagers find their planet, but their ship crash-lands on the wrong side of the globe, forcing them to attempt an arduous and dangerous trek to their ultimate destination, New Pacifica.

Howard Rosenberg Los Angeles Times 06/06/2019
Only when "Earth 2" belatedly plunges into a dreamlike realm of time warps and overlapping realities does it become interesting. Otherwise, the opening story is neither futuristic nor suspenseful. Go to Full Review

"Earth 2" does have some dramatic vistas and magnificent natural lighting, but for a sci-fi exercise, it's remarkably short on eye-popping effects. Go to Full Review
Ken Parish Perkins Chicago Tribune 06/06/2019
Judging by the two-hour premiere episode, "Earth 2" is a well-crafted and entertaining show, based less on high-tech action than interpersonal relationships. Go to Full Review

It isn't a bad show - it certainly has some nice qualities - but after watching the entire series on DVD you can't help but shrug it all off with a "meh." Go to Full Review

Visually it's quite ugly and the aliens fairly derivative. Crippled by a slow beginning and lack of clear direction, it joins the likes of Terra Nova and Jericho; competent but cancelled due to a lack of viewers. Go to Full Review

Jim n @JimBimBim 01/15/2023 Excellent show! Wish I could find it on a streaming service. It's a pity that no 2nd season came. See more 05/27/2022 Loved this show. It filled the family tv time void, left in the wake of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, which was all too briskly canceled after a single season, also. Seems a lot of great content in that era never made it to a second season. See more 10/19/2020 a great series with a good story. unfortunately, another season never came out. See more 08/10/2020 Excellent show! Wish I could find it on a streaming service. See more 07/28/2019 This series has everything as long as you're not looking for laughs. The two primary species of aliens leave lots of room for exploration. What really drives the series is the interpersonal relationships between the colonists, as well as between the colonists and aliens. Also propelling the series are notions of right and wrong on a new world. There is poignancy and betrayal, but also restoration. See more Read all reviews
