Accidentally frozen, pizza-deliverer Fry wakes up 1,000 years in the future. He is taken in by his sole descendant, an elderly and addled scientist who owns a small cargo delivery service. Among the other crew members are Capt. Leela, accountant Hermes, intern Amy, obnoxious robot Bender and lobsterlike moocher "Dr." Zoidberg.

The show may not still have the power to surprise us the way it did in its early days, but if it continues on the flight path Season 13 is charting, that could be just fine. Go to Full Review

Futurama Season 13 isn't trying to be the next great cartoon or comedy, but it does promise to fans that it will maintain the same fun and funny performances that make it great. Go to Full Review

Strong episodes this season lean more effectively into the idea of brilliant scientists like Professor Farnsworth using their intelligence to justify extremely stupid ideas. Go to Full Review

Season 13 isn’t groundbreaking or revelatory, nor does it do anything other shows haven’t already done. That said, it’s still a blast and a half, and easily the best installment of the revival thus far. Go to Full Review

The deft mix of top-notch character writing, creative sci-fi weirdness, and sitcom-style relatability that has defined Futurama throughout its storied history is very much on display here. Go to Full Review

Even Dr. Zoidberg, a character who usually works best in small doses, gets an arc that shows some surprising emotional depth under all the dumpster diving. Go to Full Review

Danielpatrick L @RT81880596 May 13 Much better than last season. Feels like the old days (at least the Comedy Central ones). I definitely laughed out loud more than I expected. I wish I had watched it sooner. See more Guy D @Caffinateddiesel Mar 30 Please keep coming back! See more David M @dmauas Feb 14 Before Hulu, Futurama was incredible. Now it's Highly uninspired: No longer irreverent, no longer funny. The Hulu seasons are playing it safe, repeating old tropes in a neutral tone. The pacing is slow, the jokes are bad. I barely cracked a smile. These seasons are so bad, they amplify the grandeur of seasons 1-7. I have to force myself to finish each episode of these seasons. It feels like a funeral. See more Evan S @Username878 Jan 15 As a die hard long time Futurama fan, this was genuinely great! Significantly better than the other Hulu Seasons which were more "just ok/passable". While never perfect, this season felt much closer to some of the OG episodes in the fantastical ideas they had and sharp clever humour. See more Ruby M @RubyDiamond Dec 27 This is an iconic show. So smart and funny and genius. Futurama is the dignity of the TV industry. Many people grew up with this and it keeps getting better. I loved this season. See more Sam M. @RT71943576 Dec 21 One of the best seasons of Futurama to date! I’ll just be going episode to episode with my review to make it more in depth. Episode 1: Funny, and one of my new favorite episodes. Bender finding out he isn’t tall was surprisingly funny and interesting. It was a bonus that it’s turned into a Godzilla and Pacific Rim style showdown. Episode 2: Personally found it very engaging and interesting to see this serious topic transmitted to comedy. It was a pretty bland story Futurama-wise but still decent enough to send its message of environmentalism. Episode 3: While I and many others in the fandom have grown tired of Leela and Fry constantly questioning their relationship (I would compare to Marge and Homer’s continual somehow never ending marriage struggles) this episode seemed to be the same thing until it turned the tired storyline upside down and giving real reason for them to question their relationship other than stupid stuff. Episode 4: It was a pretty interesting look at Professor Farnsworth with him being one of the few characters the show hasn’t looked at in depth. It took Futurama back to its scientific roots and it actually being Sci-Fi it was plain and simple a breath of fresh air. Episode 5: I didn’t like most of this episode. It was a nice way to get Zapp in there (no complaints from that end) it’s just the way screen addiction is represented is very unrealistic, and it’s personally hard to believe their wouldn’t be a better way to deal with it other than a detoxication camp in the year 3025. Episode 6: Funny satire of scientists constantly trying to find solutions for things deemed spiritual. It was respectful though to the scientists giving a logical explanation as well as a spiritual one. It was alright. Decent and average episode. Episode 7: If you haven’t seen this episode let me break it down (I’ll need to). The Pizza Place, after one of its owners runs for mayor, gets a smear campaign run against it saying that its pepperoni is made from children. It’s a satire that was funny enough. Until it’s revealed that it’s pepperoni isn’t made from children or average meat. It’s made from a thousand year aged fly carcasses. It was gross. This is one of two episodes in this season that severely grossed me out. Episode 8: A nice look at Dr Zoidberg (Hooray for Zoidberg) and how Leela doesn’t appreciate her parents. It was a good look at both characters and it was a genuinely good time. Episode 9: Remember how I said that two episodes severely grossed me out this season? Here’s the second one. So it starts off pretty simply with Bender going to a truffle planet to find truffles and make millions of dollars. Average Bender storyline right? Because Bender needed a truffle pig to sniff out the truffles, but they were never allowed to eat the truffles. After the pig helps Bender get his fortune and pay back the robot Mafia with 2 tons of truffles Bender decides to reward his pig (who can speak) a truffle. But we later find out when Bender opens the box for the gluttony awards that the reason the pigs had never been given truffles is because when they were given some their self control became non existent. So when Bender had given his pig that truffle he didn’t realize that the pig would become addicted and eat the whole two tons of truffles. They did a story like this before in an Anthology of Interest episode where Bender became human and that too grossed me out, but this was a whole new level of gross. I didn’t enjoy this episode to put it simply. Episode 10: Now for my favorite episode. I don’t know what about this episode makes me love it so much. The clone numbering system. Clone Zoidberg eating two other clone Zoidberg. Something about this episode made it unexplainably funny. It accomplished its goal it all I can say. See more Read all reviews
