Set in the suburbs of Naples, Italy, the crime drama goes inside the Camorra, a fierce Neapolitan crime organization led by Pietro Savastano. The story is told through the eyes of Don Pietro's right-hand man, Ciro Di Marzio, whose faith in the family is tested when he realizes how far Don Pietro is willing to go to keep his power. Despite his feelings, Ciro feels an obligation to obey Don Pietro's orders when he tasks his underling with protecting his son Genny, who is being groomed to take Don Pietro's place while the elder Savastano is serving a lengthy prison sentence.

Just when it seemed the show was a bust, it rediscovered its panache and has nicely set up a series climax in which the entire mafia clan is up for grabs. Go to Full Review

The show is a brooding, propulsive, totally addictive story of rival gangster clans in modern-day Naples, shot like a Brutalist chiaroscuro nightmare. Go to Full Review

Gomorrah is a violent gangster drama without a story, or gangsters, worth investing in. Go to Full Review

Gomorra is thoroughly unpleasant at times, but that unpleasantness is also so beautifully spell-binding. Go to Full Review

Normally, I would recommend watching the first two seasons, but since each year is stand-alone it's easy enough to enjoy Season 3 on its own. Go to Full Review

05/18/2022 Gritty, gripping and great. See more 03/07/2022 Is extremely good, subtitles not a problem The only thing that I struggle with a bit is all the killing & police no where to be seen. No doubt corruption but DNA would be all over the dead bodies & these guys must be on some sort of database. Genny killed the driver on a highway. Even when Ciro killed his wife, I know burning all the evidence & no doubt rival gangs would be the prime suspects. First season Ciro show all those people in the car showroom, guessing quite a few camera's around. I could go on. Does not spoil it & I may have missed something but just niggles. See more Steve P 10/30/2021 I've spent two months living in Rome trying to learn Italian, and spent a day in Naples and I thought to myself what a s*ithole Naples was. Back stateside, when I shared my story, a person told me about this series. The fact that it was in Italian was a huge plus. I was enthralled with this series from S1E1 !! Each episode is clever, unpredictable twists and turns in the plot, and thrilling. I've been won over a thousand times and recommend it to everyone. It will be a sad day when I finish S4E12 but looking forward to S5 in November !! See more JeReL H @Jenthall 09/23/2021 The poster up here makes no sense. Shows amazing. Great season throughout. More than enough kills for the blood lustful but gr8 writing as well. If this was an American show it'd be our new Breaking Bad. See more 06/27/2021 Engrossing show, very original. It appears very messy by normal standards. There is no protagonist and all the characters are terrible. All the main characters are rotten irredeemable sociopaths. That being said making bad guys have redeeming qualities and having an anti-hero you actually root for, is really fake. This show seems gritty and very realistic. Gritty and dark compared to the romanticism of the American depiction of organized crime. This is far more like it. And I found myself horrified and yet addicted to the stories. See more 05/11/2021 Excellent show, very well acted, well directed, watch it if you can, there are some sites that offer it with English subtitles. See more Read all reviews
