Ryan McGee AV Club 04/27/2020
A show like Hot Set should either be a master class in a specific craft or create compelling narratives featuring creative people. Doing both at once would be ideal, but not necessary. Instead, Hot Set does neither particularly well. Go to Full Review
Allison Keene The Hollywood Reporter 04/27/2020
Though Hot Set presents a familiar framework and style, its particular focus is an inherently appealing one, and the pace at which the series flies by will make it easy for viewers to get pulled in. Go to Full Review
Nick Grant New Zealand Herald 04/27/2020
The programme-makers deserve marks for trying, I suppose, but in the end it's easy to see why Face Off is on to its sixth season and Hot Set was canned after one: it's a show that's literally about watching paint dry. Go to Full Review
Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 04/27/2020
Perhaps it would have been cost prohibitive to have 12 designers designing 12 sets each week, but it would have made for better TV because viewers would get to know the competitors and cheer for and against them. Go to Full Review
Matt Roush TV Guide 04/27/2020
