If this keeps up, House of the Dragon may become something even grander than Game of Thrones. A vast political epic about dynasties that, in crafting such believable fantasy, rivals the richness of Tolkien.

House of the Dragon Season 1 was not nearly as good as Game of Thrones, but I liked the second part of it. It felt slow to me at times, but I did enjoy the time jumps. They took us through Visery's (Paddy Considine) life and how it was always going to be Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) who would rule the seven kingdoms after him. Viscerys died a peaceful death, and that is when everything changed. His firstborn son with Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), Aegon (Ty Tennant), took this throne at the end, and now it's all about gathering allies towards Rhaenyra's cause. What is really going to set her off next season is that Aemond killed her son Luke with his dragon. He was the heir to Drift Mark, and now there will probably be an all-out war. I liked Daemon (Matt Smith) more in the later half of this season, and I hope they keep his character semi-good in the next season. Overall, they did a good job for their first prequel, but I heard the second season is not nearly as good as the first.

Brilliant performance by Paddy Considine and enjoyable cast. This season was a return to form after the disappointing final season of GOT. The tension is back, the story sparks the old guessing and fan theories the original was so known for. Do you dare latch any connection to characters, incase they have their head removed the following episode? Constantly waking up avoiding spoilers online. Happy to return to this fantasy world.

The show is good, even though most people know how it all ends up, as it's a sequel. But... almost FOUR YEARS between seasons 2-3? I've lost all interest and connection with the story and characters. That's entirely too long, even if it's a big show. Probably won't watch anymore, I can just read the histories and books.
