Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin. Sarah Barnett, BBCA president, says, "'Killing Eve' stands out in a sea of scripted stories as refreshingly entertaining and great fun."

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is loved because she writes characters and she writes stories that you don't often see on TV. What this drama does, is [that it] goes against all the conventions of a drama that you'd normally expect. Go to Full Review

What distinguishes Killing Eve isn't just that Villanelle is a categorically transgressive female character; it's also that she's interesting. Go to Full Review

Executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge subverts every male-centered trope of espionage thrillers as Eve and the assassin play a deadly cat-and-mouse game fueled by their mutual fascination with each other. Go to Full Review

Villanelle’s not the classic villain. [...] Her mix of crazy, mean, weird and psychotic will make you love her for making you gasp, laugh, scream in horror and even, at times, worry for her life. Go to Full Review

David H @DavidHHH 6d Of course there's a balance between plausibility and suspension of disbelief, but this just fails for me entirely. Preposterous plot from the get go. How on earth does such a whimsical assassin repeatedly walk in and out of the most slapdash killings without getting caught? Then the characters aren't engaging or thrilling enough to overcome that disbelief. See more Igor Z Nov 2 Jesus Christ, I can't even think how this drivel could attract anyone. The plot does not make sense, there are loads of cringeworthy scenes where characters force themselves to laugh or have unnecessary scenes (yes, intended) or do things to make them do things later. Villanelle speaking English to Russians in Russia, Villanelle running over Nadia and not finishing her to go to a Russian prison to finish her, Anna suddenly killing herself in front of Villanelle AND a child, upon which Villanelle asks the child to search the flat for money to go buy food... yeah. See more Ethan O. @EthanLikesMovies Jul 14 chefs kiss! This show is spectacular and I still rewatch it all the time! I even showed it to my cat so she knows what good tv looks like :D See more Ed B May 9 Horrible series. It is all about a psychopath killer who is a Russian "mafiosa" led by male bosses. The Asian American actress plays an officer who is really weak and afraid of her own shade. The actress plays the Russian psychopath is a boring actress and she somehow thinks she is a hot number. Now, the Asian American actress character is really horrible for an office, who should be strong and a master on solving crimes. She never really catches the killer and, in the end, had a lesbian affair with her. I think is not her fault but the fault of the writer of that terrible series. My consolation was the guy plays the Asian American husband who is a good actor and does a good work as a math teacher and the bald officers who was killed in the first season. I started watching it and did the first season and started the second season and I stopped. If you like watch a psychopath killing for pleasure and an officer who is not good solving a mystery and is afraid of her own shade, you will love this terrible series. Now wonder they cancelled it, because the entire thing is BORING and blood all over! This deserved no more than half star!!!!!!! See more Tiffany K 01/24/2025 Loved this entire series. Really wish it was renewed for a 5th season. See more Jim S 01/13/2025 Since I have heard so much about this series and some of the reviews rate it high I thought I would give it a watch. What what a waste of my time. The logistics of the assassinations are laughable at best and the rest of the show follows that trajectory. Fake and goofy are two words that come to mind. If not for the quirky and interesting performance by Jodie Comer I would give it 1/2 star. Forced myself to watch it to end of season one as I wanted to give it a chance but it just is too unrealistic for me. See more Read all reviews
