Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn know what they're doing, but it's still a pity to see this series so focused on finding the next great fashion brand rather than the next great fashion designer. Go to Full Review

Bravo's Top Chef, which was also filmed in in the fall of 2020, used the constraints to create its best season ever. Making the Cut just became a middling Project Runway knock-off. Go to Full Review

Very much proves itself to be a show that celebrates the industry and notes the hard work involved, even if it all feels a little too neatly wrapped up at times Go to Full Review

05/18/2022 I really enjoyed watching this show! It was focused on the fashion and less on the random drama reality shows like to highlight. (of course their was still some good entertainment that allowed one to connect with the designers) The Heidi and Tim moments of season 1 were annoying... but i still like both of the hosts. They're nice, supportive and still very constructive with the designers. I liked the judge/host setup a lot. Having Tim go around & check on the designers throughout, but not be a judge was good because he gave insight to how the judges might think & was there to offer support. I Like having 1 consistent judge/host, consistent & guest judges, etc. Also loved the approach of runway + accessible looks and taking into account the business aspect of a fashion brand. Often very cheesy.. but at least people were leaning on too nice than too mean. See more 02/28/2022 the absence of annoying backstabbing and ridiculous budgets and deadlines makes it possible to focus on the designs, and the addition of a business model consideration offers some insight into the industry. Much better than Project Runway. And this season omitted the cloyingly cutesy Heidi/Tim moments (moulin rouge? fencing?) of the first season. The pandemic meant this season lost the fun of seeing the sights around foreign cities but I trust that will return when the next season rolls around. In no way is this a design competition. Spoiler alert: The tackiest designer wins. See more 07/22/2021 I disliked the first episode because they fought to save one designer but just cut the other one. It seems bias and I didn't expect it from this season eventhough they were bias on the last season. See more 07/18/2021 My kid and I are loving our new Project Runway. I'm only writing early because I need need need to see Gary Graham make it to the end, and see more of Franklin, NY, and historical textiles. Gary is such a shy man, I was wondering why the start of the show was so focused on him, and then he got talking about historical textiles and The Army Surplus store as inspiration and I: YAAAAAAAS GAAAAAAAAAARY! What an interesting designer you found. Gary obviously has been treated badly by the retail world, and is ready to sit back and let Amazon do the work for him, and for people like Gary, I think it's a wonderful thing. Let's hope the fashion world/Amazon works towards sustainability of artists such as Gary (and all the talented designers found for this season) and this is a good change of corporate programming-HSN-type opportunities, not a drop in the bucket of another bad round of exploitation to support the rich getting richer.
