Jonathan Groff anchors the show with his riveting performance as the cerebral Agent Holden Ford, an earnest, confident and socially awkward innovator.

At first glance, this drama-based on an F.B.I. agent's memoir, created by Joe Penhall, and frequently directed by David Fincher-was handsome, twisty, and punishingly blunt. But the after-image is richly unsettling.

It is a series about the FBI and serial killers. The beginning of the intertwining of the two.

A procedural about the invention of psychological profiling for mass killers, is a detailed descent into research, interrogation and grisly scientific discovery. It is at once an obsessively low-key experience and a new approach to the cop show.

Mindhunter expertly satirizes a now well-worn crime genre, in which the solver of crimes takes center stage, rather than the crimes themselves, or their victims.

David Fincher has made two great episodes, leaving his mark but without cannibalizing the proposal. [Full Review in Spanish]

Though it seems like a typical crime show, Mindhunter has enough going on at both the level of ideas and visual construction to keep its trajectory compelling.

There has never been a more timely release date for a show about why men do the terrible things they do, or a better time to watch men work backwards, trying to figure each other out, saying what women already know.

This show has not just entertained me for an hour at a time, but instead has peaked my interest far beyond that.

Decades of crime entertainment - ahem, CSI - have turned all of us into armchair sleuths, and the majority of movies and shows know that. Mindhunter is rewarding as hell to watch for entirely the opposite reason.

The cast comes to play, and they get in dirty with the material. The narratives are well structured and shine a light on the dinginess of the work.

We normally don't see how our institutions change over time-we just know intuitively that they have changed and will continue to change in invisible ways. Mindhunter shows us how.

Fincher's vision is gothic and Nietzschean, presenting a story not so much about law enforcement as about individuals staring into the black well of their civilization, and coming back marked.

These characters have depth sometimes unseen to the audience, and that inexplicability is what keeps the show more than interesting.

Mindhunter could be a conventional police series, but there are many elements that take it away from this classic model. [Full Review in Spanish]

It's terrifying, how the quiet emphasizes how truly terrible a decision it is to allow yourself to be alone with a man like Kemper.

Nonetheless hit that sweet spot of true crime, psychological horror and strong characterization.
