For more than two decades, Lifetime has made a name for itself by producing original movies, many of which are based on real people or events. This docuseries presents real stories that inspired TV movies that have become a part of American pop culture. The program combines cinematic re-creations with first-person interviews with women in peril who recount the jaw-dropping experiences that gave them their turn in the spotlight. Among the stories featured are a young teacher accused of sexual misconduct with a student, a real-life fatal attraction that turned into a near-death experience, and a mother who took on a small town to save her daughter's reputation when the girl was dragged into a scandal.
