People are not the only ones struggling with obesity in the U.S. The growing epidemic also affects animals -- more than 50 percent of cats and dogs in this country are either overweight or obese. Raising awareness of the problem is animal trainer Travis Brorsen, who begins a four-month weight-loss and behavior modification journey with pets and their owners. The goal is to help reduce troublesome issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart failure through personalized exercise and diet plans, and positive reinforcement training methods. Also, creative "wake-up calls" for owners allow them to better understand what their pets are going through. Each story ends with Brorsen returning for a final weigh-in to see how much progress the pets and owners have made.
