New York Undercover instead moves with the edgy motion of a music video - with a thumping hip-hop soundtrack...
The strength of this show is in the characters of Williams and Torres.
"New York Undercover" has a nice look and resonates with atmospheric rap.
Tough, gritty, and features a strong ensemble cast.
Fast cuts, shaky camera work, pounding hip-hop music... it gives me a headache just to think about it.
Good for producer Dick Wolf and Fox for casting a black and an Hispanic as the leads. But take away the cool facades and the "we-bad" talk, and you're left with just one more cop show
Abrasiveness gives the show an edge, or at least an identity, which in the clone dome of prime time amounts to the same thing.
