...[North of North] is a Netflix gem worth keeping in mind within the platform's catalog; a small but big-hearted series that will make us wonder if a trip to Nunavut wouldn't be great for our next vacation. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Tom W @TexOracle Aug 7, 2026 Critics are frauds, this decade all they do is go down the woke checklist and check boxes. 100% predictable. Given the number of check boxes on the show for social justice knew absolutely they would give this show 100% and very much undeserved. The show has a charm aspect of a Virgin River or Best Medicine, but it’s not nearly as good as those shows. Quaint but too often cheesy. So much cheese that if someone enters the room, I turn the channel because it’s embarrassing how cheesy it often is. Despite some charm, the characters are shallow and at best top out at 60% charisma, likeability - any of them. The only way I stick with it is because there’s nothing else compelling to watch at the moment. It’s like Emily in Paris at its cheesiest. Would never recommend this show. See more Ave M @RT58358845 Jul 16, 2026 I found it entertaining, the story was compelling to me. It’s fresh and cool - and representation that is so important to support. It’s not the kind of sitcom that has snappy one liners, and that’s fine. Just don’t expect that or compare it to other sitcoms you’ve watched. See more L H @Speckles Jun 9, 2026 North of North is a sitcom that forgot the comedy, often leaving behind an uninteresting and insufferable situation that makes me want to do differential calculus instead of watching another episode. This is all putting aside the shoehorned political messaging that ties together this unwatchable bundle of slop. See more Michael Shane B @KVD1969 Apr 1, 2026 The first season of North of North (2025) is an eight-episode Canadian comedy series following Siaja (Anna Lambe), a young Inuk mother attempting to reinvent herself in the small, tight-knit Arctic town of Ice Cove, Nunavut, after a public exit from her marriage. See more Breanna K @BreannaD Jan 24, 2026 Great show! Glad they renew it for season 2. Actresses and actors are great. The show is funny, wholesome and relatable. See more Alex C @AJC8907 Jan 24, 2026 The show feels fresh and interesting, mostly because it's a place and people that don't get a ton of TV screentime, and the lead character is charming. It's fun and light-hearted. My main criticism is that it feels like the show is almost apologetic of abusive men. Siaja's husband is verbally abusive and manipulative, but it's sort of treated like a joke especially at the beginning. She doesn't have keys to her own home and everyone calls it her husband's house when she wants to go get her clothes and basic necessities, even her mom. They call it "breaking in" for her to just pick up her stuff! However overall it's worth watching. I recognize a lot of the attitudes and behaviors common in other small, close-knit towns, some bad (like the way people turn on Siaja and assume the worst when she leaves her husband) and some good. We're all human after all. See more Read all reviews
