I must be the only person that disliked this series. I'm 2 episodes in and it's making me want to leave the show. The writing is as lazy as the prosecutors pinning the riot on the first person they see, which just happens to be the lead characters. I'm through it in the hopes it gets better.

I had actually gotten into this show and was binge watching. However, season 6 was just painful to watch, and I got so angry at the stupidity of the writing and the same low-brow approach to what had been a good show that I took to fast forwarding to just satisfy my curiosity about how things worked out. I wasn't interested in more gang violence and constant back-stabbing--I'd already gotten the point, and it gets totally boring after awhile. But what really got to me was the total incompetence of the attorneys and the failure of even one inmate to be aware that they have a constitutional right not to say anything. If Cindy's lawyer had reassured her that anything she said was confidential, why in the world would she not have told him about what she saw in the pool? He could have told her to just not say anything while he got with Suzanne's lawyer to have him ferret info out of her, and with what we hope is two witnesses, they could begin to look for evidence of the Swat Team's malfeasance. Surely somebody on that SWAT team would crack when they were all interrogated separately, and in fact, they were bound to come up with inconsistencies in their story. Surely the right to remain silent is jailhouse lore, and in fact I never heard one Miranda warning. What real evidence did they have against Taystee for murder--it would be hard to prove beyond a reas. doubt that one person shot someone with a gun that has the fingerprints of multiple people, and that's all the evidence you have. Every one of those people in the pool should have been advised by their attorneys to shut their trap and refuse to talk unless their attorney was present. I understand that prosecutors are assholes, having little concern for humanity and more concern about their ambitions, and that part I will agree with, and that political figures like governors are the same, and the desire to get convictions to protect their images and play the game, all the way down the line, is realistic. However, how about reminding your audience that in the United States we do have some Constitutional protections and surely there are some competent attorneys who know that, and maybe even a few inmates who are aware of it and share that info with their fellows. And I suppose the constant base sexual content, of the lowest order and constant reiteration, may appeal to some...but hardly to anyone of a balanced mind frame. Sometimes less is more.

Between 2.5 and (very close) 2 stars. This TV series always showed that justice had nothing to do with the future of its characters, and although we could forgive the not-too-much-respect to their own plots and specific figures, it seems to me that they have played much to be cruel. Anyway, last season lost much respect to the previous one because (although sisters story) was amusing, it lost the point respect to the destiny of the characters we were following it for.

I have had a relative gap between my last two dosages of Orange is the New Black which I think is to my benefit. After a fifth season that didn't particularly strike a cord with me, it was good to see an improvement in proceedings with season six. Still, it doesn't match the quality of earlier seasons. Starting strongly, the season does lag a little in the middle, but claws it back towards the end. However, the season's ending does not match the strength of previous seasons but is still good and engaging. The antagonists, while good, do not match the brilliance of past seasons. Still, it was refreshing to see a new setting and the introduction of new inmates, and it was an injection of pace that was much needed. Season six sets up the last season strongly and is a recommended watch.

Did not enjoy it as much as other seasons, although the final payoff was worth it. Badison was irritating. The Denning sisters were my favourite part.
