It’s low stakes, soft-edged, humane, basically gentle, a little fantastic, a little farcical, well cast and well played in every instance — qualities I happen to like, and maybe you do, too. Go to Full Review

If you’ve never seen Carell in anything, you will find Rooster charming and quite funny. Even if you have, you could put this series on in the background of whatever else you’re doing, and it’s perfectly pleasant. Go to Full Review

Rooster manages to start building the world that Steve Carell’s character enters into pretty early on, giving viewers a chance to get to know the ensemble as Greg and Katie redefine their father-daughter relationship. Go to Full Review

Carell, in this environment, is doing something more interesting than he’s been asked to do in years. Go to Full Review

While neither sexy nor steamy...which is not its purpose anyway, it looks like being a far more promising prospect. This is down to its star and co-producer Steve Carell, whose presence in anything is always welcome. Go to Full Review

R B @Augustweest 3h 86% ???? Rushed editing, uncomfortable forced transitions, terrible voice over work, silly dialogue (not in a good way), more than leans on outdated cliche tropes for characters, foolish at best, sad waste of talented actors and that is all before the 8 minute mark. I really count on HBO to produce quality above the rest programming and Rooster wouldn’t cut it on the CW. So much heart, so much humor. Our favorite kind of show! Can’t wait to watch the rest! See more Richard C. @richardcxmen 18h Just saw the show. Hooked all the way through. Funny and thoughtful at same time. Liked the pace and characters. Really like Steve Carroll and the supporting cast. Can't wait till next sunday. See more brett M @bretthi 19h UGH...the same shit over and over with all these shows...I get it, but try a new angle. See more Joseph B. 19h Hysterical. I’m in! Steve Carell is back. After viewing episode one, it’s hooked me. The supporting cast is top shelf. Refreshing, intriguing, and awkwardly funny. Worth the watch. See more Read all reviews
