Not only is Roseanne a domestic goddess, but she is the queen of Halloween. Or Halloween episodes, anyway, as no series before or since has put such effort into crafting memorable All Hallow's Eve celebrations.

The writing is sharp, the performances skilled. Ms. Barr and Mr. Goodman are their splendidly seasoned comic selves, and that's more than enough reason to welcome the return of Roseanne.

The Conners' oversized love for Halloween add up to so many funny, strange moments. There was a looseness, too, to the vibe of the show in its early seasons, which made everything feel more realistic.
