The references were so clever and hit upon niche things that showed the writers either grew up in that era or did the deepest of dives. I even kind of liked the parody versions they came up with and they had a good cast. Unfortunately, most of the jokes did not land. They went for cringe or gross-out instead of genuine humor way too often for my taste. I know that was the whole idea, but it still felt like a bit of a waste of time. If I were to be so imposing as to make a recommendation to the crew, add local ads with lots of dotcrawl noise & an amalgamation of 30fps 60fps & even 12-15fps on the graphic animations.
