Young New Republic pilot Kazuda Xiono is recruited by Resistance Commander Poe Dameron for a secret mission on Colossus -- an aircraft refueling station on the ocean planet of Castilon. A misunderstanding causes Kaz to participate in a dangerous race to prove himself. Kaz struggles to maintain his cover as a mechanic and spy as he tries to adjust to this new normal. Kaz's work as a spy takes him across the known galaxy on adventures with Poe Dameron and their droids, BB-8 and CB-23, as they seek to bring down the First Order.

Half-way through a season all the arc-plot begins to bunch up, and the last few episodes are genuinely engaging. It's worth a watch, but perhaps revisit the other animated shows first. Go to Full Review

In the rare case that Star Wars Resistance settles down to focus on a basic, specific story, the show genuinely shines, hinting at what it always could have always been. Go to Full Review

The premiere had a very good balance of comedic moments, character drama and tension. All the comedy worked very well - even Neeku's brand of comedy worked and I was fairly impartial to him throughout the first season. Go to Full Review

The bottom line is that Resistance... isn't really that good, or memorable. More specifically, it's a show that really doesn't know what it wants to be. Go to Full Review

(ENGLISH) If there’s one word that defines Resistance, it’s filler. It’s not as childish as Ewoks or Droids, but it never really takes off or brings anything truly memorable to the Star Wars universe. The cel-shaded animation style already feels off from the start. And the protagonist, Kazuda Xiono, is an overenthusiastic and clumsy pilot who’s hard to take seriously for most of the series. Add to that a supporting cast that borders on ridiculous—especially Neeku, the alien who feels like a badly written parody—and the result is disappointing. What’s most frustrating is that the story had potential: espionage inside an isolated station, the quiet rise of the First Order, and the New Republic’s slow loss of control. But all of that gets buried under tons of irrelevant episodes, forced humor, and a constant feeling that nothing is really happening. Sure, some recognizable villains like Phasma or Pyre are welcome, and characters like Yeager actually work—but they’re the exception. The finale improves things slightly, but it doesn’t make up for the overall dullness. For hardcore fans of the franchise with patience. For everyone else, it’s easily skippable. See more Paul S Mar 26 Once again, it was fun to watch, but it failed to evolve as a show from the first season, and the story was not compelling. See more Francis A 02/06/2025 I dont know where this is going but its not exciting. The station chief guy reminds me of the captain in Marcross. At times, I aint sure if they are trying to copy Babylon 5 or not. All along the station is a spaceship. Oh what... dont think the show is that good compared to Star War Rebels. A bit silly to cancel Rebels honestly. See more James G 07/22/2024 While the story was decent with room for improvement, I have to question the decision to change the animation design from clone wars and rebels. Really made it feel like a lesser show than the other two and therefore not as important as rest of the shows. See more Charlie M 05/28/2024 Honestly not too bad. The characters were still obnoxious sometimes, but some good ideas really do shine through, and the latter half of the season actually has a decent overarching plot. I wouldn’t watch the show again though. See more Jim N 08/18/2023 Fun from start to finish! See more Read all reviews
