It's fascinating to see how the original contestants view the mission of the journey vs how the "swaps" view the mission. It's a TV show for entertainment and not a valid experiment but the circumstances and choices of the contestants is really interesting. I love seeing the waterscapes and the challenges are suspenseful/fun to watch. Seeing that the group has tended to make decisions as a community is really heartening. Just like American society, people struggle with accepting each other and there have been unfair votes and unfair biases (Merissa being fearful of Lashawna was pretty twisted - especially after you see the pointed shouting match between Tara and CJ that does not leave Merissa fearful of Tara...), also CJ having the attitude that his value was higher than other people's (higher than Russ, higher than Tara). Jimmy and other swaps assuming that value is tied to physical prowess when the morale and cohesiveness of the group actually drives success and is maintained by Russ and others... really such an interesting show. I watched one full episode and couldn't watch any more. I like to watch TV and a few reality shows for entertainment, but this show just irritated me. It doesn't matter what side you're on or who you agree with on the show, watching them fight and argue wasn't entertaining at all; it was just irritating.
