SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch 11/07/2024 "Tangled" is a truly enchanting film brought to life by Disney animation, following the journey of Rapunzel, the lost princess, as she embarks on a quest for self-discovery filled with adventure and unforgettable characters that have become staples in the Disney universe. Rapunzel is not only a remarkable character in her own right, but she is also accompanied by her loyal sidekick, Pascal the chameleon. Together, they form a dynamic duo as Rapunzel navigates her complex relationship with her captor, Mother Gothel. This villain stands out in Disney history—not just as a villain, but as one of the most chilling, having kidnapped Rapunzel and kept her hidden for 18 years. Her cunning nature makes her a formidable antagonist, especially as Rapunzel's curiosity is sparked by the sight of the floating lanterns. The film's music, vibrant visuals, and creative storytelling create a magical atmosphere that captivates audiences of all ages. It is a delightful experience that offers everything you didn’t even know you needed. We are also introduced to Flynn Rider, a charming and roguish character whose journey intertwines with Rapunzel's. Despite being a thief, he captures the heart of the lost princess, and together they form a hilarious and balanced partnership that is one of Disney's most memorable. Disney's animation team also put considerable effort into crafting Flynn's character design, making him one of the most attractive male leads in their lineup. Alongside him is Maximus, the valiant horse, whose bravery and comedic antics provide some of the film's most delightful moments. Additionally, the comedic relief provided by the thieving brothers and the lively patrons of the Snuggly Duckling adds to the richness of the story, giving each character their own unique flair. While the king and queen have minor roles, their presence helps to round out the narrative. I wholeheartedly recommend watching "Tangled," and I must mention that the animated series that follows is surprisingly captivating. It continues the story of Rapunzel and Flynn, delving into their lives post-movie, including their wedding and the dynamics of their relationship. The series cleverly incorporates elements from the film, maintaining continuity and leaving room for further storytelling. Though the animation style in the series feels a bit different and at times more juvenile compared to the film, it still offers a beautifully crafted narrative with fantastic new characters. While it sometimes feels like a children's show, the essence of the original film remains intact. Overall, I encourage everyone to explore both the movie and the series for a fuller experience of Rapunzel's enchanting world. See more 11/28/2018 This show is a hot mess. It goes from mindless drivel to extremely depressing and even disturbing with little to no in between. Disney continues to demonize young boys with one of the cruelest and most disturbing plot twists I have ever seen. The original characters personalities are basically non-existent. Rapunzel went from being a strong, adventurous girl who always stood up for her friends, to an immature, weak-willed, irresponsible and self-centered bimbo. Eugene is just there. Her parents are idiots willing to put the whole kingdom in incredible danger just to save their daughter. I will say that I liked the music and animation. I liked the new characters Cass and Varian. I really think the show should have focused on those two and left Tangled out of it. There is something way more compelling about a young boy losing his father to a curse and having to rectify his mistakes over it, or even a girl who desperately wants to be a royal guard, but has to overcome all the sexism around the job to do it, that it was more interesting than what we got with this. I really hate this show and hope they can it soon. It's gotten very toxic and I would be uncomfortable letting kids watch this, considering the show handles the subjects of grief, loss, death, abuse and bullying all with no sense of compassion or empathy. It's a morality mind fuck. Stay away if you love the original Tangled. I wish I had. See more 10/08/2018 Amazing, and has awesome adventures to be waiting for! See more 05/10/2018 I loved the Tangled movie and I looked forward the show expanding on it. The show exceeded my expectations. It had strong, developed characters, fun and cute episodes, and absolutely adorable interactions between Rapunzel and Eugene. They’re so healthy and are a joy to watch. The show is sort of episodic but builds as it goes. The animation is beautiful. While I enjoyed some episodes more than others, I loved something from each of them and I was always excited to watch more. See more 01/16/2018 Loved the finale few episodes.
