When soldier Shaun Emery's conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence, he returns to life as a free man with his young daughter. But as damning CCTV footage from a night out in London comes to light, Shaun's life takes a shocking turn and he must soon fight for his freedom once more. Detective Inspector Rachel Carey is drafted to investigate Shaun's case, but she quickly learns that disentangling misinformation from truth can sometimes be a matter of perspective. In a post-truth era of deepfakes, alternative facts and ubiquitous surveillance, seeing is deceiving; told through the lens of the intelligence community's extraordinary oversight capability, this conspiracy thriller troubles the timely question of whether we can really believe our eyes.

I thought The Capture might be over-stretching itself with a third series, but here is its big strength: you cannot predict what is going to happen next. Go to Full Review

The Capture’s dystopia is still one you can believe in. Go to Full Review

Seven years on, series three could not arrive at a better time...but its storylines have become quite ridiculous. Still, if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief and be carried along for the ride, it has its moments. Go to Full Review

It’s tense, rapid-fire viewing, absorbing enough to let you gloss over some riotous implausibilities which sometimes threaten to tip the entire production over a cliff. Go to Full Review

The Capture has never been stronger than it is in its third series, and it remains an underrated jewel in the BBC’s crown of police thrillers. Go to Full Review

This convoluted conspiracy fantasy, set in a Britain where AI can instantly replace live TV and surveillance footage with deep fake videos, is compulsively watchable, not for its devious plotlines but because of its stars. Go to Full Review

henry L @RT43619288 Apr 13 Season 1 was a good series which pushed the boundaries of tech capability at the time to give a somewhat grounded drama, with what was both a good dystopia warning and character driven mystery drama. While season 2 did a okay at extending some of those idea especially the theme of modern tech dissolving an idea of a solid truth it did start to push beyond what an audience can suspend their disbelief for (or the tech can be grounded on). Season 3 leaves the ground about as far as the recent moon missions. Yes a super solider breaking out a CIA base solo with the help of a pacemaker is dumb, but think worse is the approach to AI. What made Season 1 great is it didn't make correction to far beyond belief, a god like AI outside of the minds of silicon valley cults is. I think the show could of pulled it off , maybe the boys club at the end uses the AI as a front , but tbh may be better off becoming a anthology like black mirror for better narrative flexibility to explore these themes. See more Miguel R @Miguel_Madrid Apr 12 Absolutely brilliant edge of your seat watching. I prefer it over similar American shows. But I have not enjoyed the ending of the third season. See more David B @RT42479238 Apr 7 Agree with the reviewer who remarked on the overly negative reviews with 1 star. Probably Simon. It is a little clunky in places but whenever you think this is completely unbelievable a reason is given (eg. Why Rachel was spared in episode 1). Definitely worth watching. Acting is good and Indira Varma’s voice, wow! See more Rob S @RT21335224 Apr 6 I thought it would be overstretched doing a third series, but this series has been captivating from the beginning. Cannot wait for the next episodes and hope they bring out another series See more Eric T @RT28763762 Apr 4 Loving this 3rd season so far See more Read all reviews
