Alexander Hale, a first-generation Chinese-American analyst, is stuck downstairs at his top-secret spy agency, The Orphanage. But when he suspects he might be the mole they're hunting for, he realizes that his eyes and ears have been hacked. Keeping the fiction alive that he's unaware of the hack, he works with his agency to hunt those responsible, even as The Orphanage builds a fake world around him, assigning him a new "girlfriend," promoting him to a new dangerous mission and sending him down a rabbit hole where it's not clear what's real and what's fake in his own life. When the lines begin to blur, Alexander is forced to take control of his own destiny and discover where his true allegiance lies.

Between headlining Marvel’s Shang-Chi and playing a Ken in Barbie, Canadian actor Simu Liu has more than proven his versatility. Nonetheless, he can’t find that much to distinguish this science-fiction thriller... Go to Full Review
Thelma Adams TheWrap Dec 29
It satisfies our spy TV jones, and Liu passes the test as a dynamic leading man. Go to Full Review
Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times Dec 29
The show is well cast. While the characters on paper are pretty much types, each actor projects the essence of the part, adding enough extra personality to suggest a real person. Go to Full Review

It's tough to come up with a better premise than the twist on the double agent spy story that opens this series, but the show mostly feels like it's vamping until it gets to the good parts. Go to Full Review

Joseph H. 19h Awesome show, binge worthy, kept me wanting more See more Aileen A @leenin 2d Really like this series. Have heard it was complicated and I am enjoying the complication. So many ways each character can go and not sure about any of them. It is suspenseful and I am looking forward to the finish. See more Pierre H 3d Until episode 5, the series was above average, intriguing and overall a pleasant watch with the occasional plot incoherence, but nothing too terrible. That changed with episode 5 which is catastrophically incoherent. That episode's plot is very poor, nothing makes sense. It ruined any narrative goodwill. See more Hei J @Elyse933 3d The story is original and suspenseful—I really like it. See more D3Z 1 Jan 19 Even though there are some minor areas within its plot that could had been more fleshed out, The Copenhagen Test was still a decent thriller to watch and the well done performances from Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera. See more JR F @paynomind Jan 19 Phenomenal action, thriller, science TV show that watches like a movie. Twists and changes and unique situations make the ride fun and unpredictable. I can't find the things wrong that others say, I found every character deep, flawed, learning. There are several items that pass the Bechtel test. The women are badass, the men are too. It has quiet, contemplative moments, and intense action. It explores the title Test and shows a ton of different interpretations. Really great watch. Not trying to change the world, some escapism fun will do us all some good. See more Read all reviews
