Angela Rance believes something is very wrong in her home. Plagued by increasingly frightening nightmares, she isn't the only one in her family suffering: her husband Henry is slowly losing his mind, while their older daughter spends all of her time locked in her room and the younger one believes she hears strange noises coming from inside the walls. Desperate, she turns to Father Tomas Ortega -- the progressive leader of their suburban Chicago parish -- setting him on a collision course with old school Vatican soldier Father Marcus Brennan, as all their fates become entangled in a battle against an ancient force of evil.

Quanto a isto, é muito bom rever como as personagens seguiram com suas vidas, e até a forma que a direção de arte teve zelo com os detalhes. Temos ótimas atuações, dos padres e da familia principal. O roteiro não consegue deixar claro qual sentido Pazuzu teria com a conspiração do filme, inclusive é uma surpresa quando ele surge numa reunião. No fim a conspiração tão grande é rendida facilmente, o que foi um tanto broxante. Também a queima de personagens principais tão abruptamente considero que foi prejudicial para a conclusão da história e até para a segunda temporada. O que é uma pena pois o núcleo das freiras, o casal de amigos e a Mãe de Reagan poderiam render muito mais capitulos.
