MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND - also with the remarkable Gaia Girace, THE YOUNG POPE and most connected to this thematically: IL CACCIATORE. THE GOOD MOTHERS is excellent. But so far it is also heavy and relentless and without hope - and therefor maybe not everyone's cup of tea. The show feels very authentic and there is zero sentimentalising or glamorising these mafiosi, like most other shows and movies do. To think that such callous and depraved men like those portrayed here exist is depressing. I root of course for some to get their comeuppance. I will continue - but this is no binge material. One episode every two days is plenty. See more William D @RT21770127 06/10/2023 Extremely dreary, disjointed and hopeless presentation of a supposed "real world story" that seems more than anything to demonstrate the hopeless incompetence of Italian law enforcement. You would think it would make for a good story, but it completely goes off the rails during the last 3 episodes, and is marred by a murky and claustrophobic presentation, and some of the least attractive actresses I have ever seen, who spend most of their time staring vacantly and glumly at the camera, and absolutely nothing in the way of catharsis or an emotional payoff. I can't believe this has a 100% on Rottentomatoes. I watched it all the way through and ended up feeling depressed and irritated.
