The Grand Tour is the Mrs Brown's Boys of shows about cars, something silly and old-fashioned that really shouldn't have found such an enormous modern audience, but somehow really has.

Between the gear head banter and intoxicating visuals, The Grand Tour makes for a sweet escape from the real world we all live in.

Fans frankly weren't sure if they'd ever get a chance to see their favorites back on-air. With The Grand Tour, they very much are-now uncensored... and we can't wait to follow them from California to Johannesburg to Portugal and beyond.

It doesn't feel like an exciting new start. It feels stale. Forced. Baggy. Tired. And this is because, as well as transplanting the presenting team across from Top Gear, it has also carried across the baggage that made latter-day Top Gear fall flat.

It's hardly a complete reinvention of the successful Top Gear formula but, with the new incarnation of the latter being received like an elevator fart, it never had to be.

When it comes to the cars, The Grand Tour delivers gearhead porn in spades... Clarkson, Hammond, and May's love for machinery... is still present, pure, and appealing, even with the shift in networks and formats.
