Things take a turn for the worse.
"Under His Eye" showed a more lenient side for the higher-ups.
While there are aspects that resonate and are bound to create waves that may be engaging, it's one of the weakest so far. June's character is somewhat lost right now, but there's still time to refocus, or give us more of the shining supporting roles.
Like most filler episodes, you could probably skip this one all together if you want to, in favor of just watching the "previously on" mini-recap before next week's.
June's mission will be even more impossible than it was before.
Even when the stories told about June and the Waterfords come from someplace new, they often miss.
The bleakness of "Under His Eye" doesn't take long to settle in...
Packed with a bunch of interesting moments that I'm not convinced add up to a greater whole.
Humans are that bad. And Handmaid's Tale is still better than any other show on television at expressing that distinct horror.
It's all . . . just a little too much.
