Janko B @JankoB May 12 Rarely has a TV series kept me this hooked throughout all its seasons like "Il Cacciatore - The Hunter". While most shows have weaker moments at some point, this one keeps the tension high from beginning to end. Francesco Montanari delivers a great performance as anti-mafia prosecutor Saverio Barone, a complex character constantly torn between his work and family life. The series shows not only the fight against the mafia, but also the personal cost behind it. What makes the show even more compelling is that many of the mafiosi portrayed — including Bernardo Provenzano, Pietro Aglieri, and Leoluca Bagarella — were or still are real people. This gives the story a very authentic feel, helped by excellent performances from the cast. The mafia is never romanticized, but shown as brutal and ruthless. For me, one of the best Italian crime series alongside "Gomorrah" and "Romanzo Criminale". See more Read all reviews
