Tv Season Info

The Heck family have a lot of milestones and growing pains in the seventh season of this family sitcom. Sue (Eden Sher) starts her first year of college, something she's looked forward to all her life, but not everything goes the way she expected. Dental assistant and supermom Frankie (Patricia Heaton) turns 50, but it seems to be more difficult for her husband Mike (Neil Flynn) than it is for her. She begins to worry when Mike displays some strange behavior – including buying into one of his brother's crazy ideas. Brick (Atticus Shaffer) starts to be more independent, leading Frankie to feel like she's no longer needed and Axl (Charlie McDermott) goes through a transition period as tries to find a place of his own and starts a new job.

Critic Reviews for The Middle Season 7

All Critics (3) | Top Critics (1)

There was precious little chance that this season would kick off in any way other than with Sue being completely beside herself with excitement about starting college, and - no surprise here - The Middle did not disappoint on that front.

Too many sitcoms nowadays go more for cleverness than wisdom. This show happens to have both. It's classic comfort food, but it also has edge and bite.

This is a strong season for The Middle. At a time in a show's long life when it could be coasting or repeating itself, the series remains surprising.

Audience Reviews for The Middle: Season 7

This show is still making my family and I laugh even after all of these amazing 7 seasons.
  • Aug 28, 2016
The season started not so great but after the first few episodes it was very good.
  • Jun 02, 2016
I worried how they would keep the interest up in a family show where the characters are at a stage of going their own ways, but they have done so beautifully. I'm enjoying walking through the changes. When it could really all go wrong, it's all really gone right. The individual stories are great while somehow maintaining a beautiful cohesiveness. Great writing, great acting, great family enjoyment. Every Wednesday as I work through a lot of daily grind, I look forward to my "Wednesday night show" that evening.

Wonderful, family oriented comedy with heart to spare. Shows a (semi-)dysfunctional family is still a family. Love all the great cameos.

It amazes me that this wonderful show does not get more recognition. Love it!! Wonderful family filled with lovable characters…loving the year of Sue (continued). But really love the Brick!!!
