It's not groundbreaking, by any stretch, but I'm hooked with its "tune in next week" cliff-hangers and desire to address the #MeToo polemic.

We'll have to see if "The Morning Show" completely clicks, but even with an uneven first three episodes, Aniston is terrific as the veteran TV broadcaster who is, to borrow a phrase, mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

I don't think The Morning Show will reveal anything about network news or the challenges for women in the workplace that I don't already know, but, just like a cooking segment, it has sucked me in.

As we'd expect, Aniston and Witherspoon are electric in their scenes together.

As a mix of melodrama and well-written interactions that feel genuinely human, "The Morning Show" is fairly entrancing.

That's The Morning Show. They're the Gin Blossoms of television shows. It's not particularly original, the writing is thin, but it's polished, it hits all the right emotional beats, and it's very watchable.

Like the pants Alex wears and Bradley also favors for most of the show, the fact that the two protagonists have gender-neutral names is no coincidence. It's just one more rich detail in a show that demands analysis and critical thinking from viewers.

Most tiresome are the long-winded monologues presented several times each episode, moments that reek of self-importance in the utter absence of substance.

I liked it. Just didn't love it. Both stars, along with Steve Carrell and Billy Crudup, excel, direction by Mimi Leder is exemplary, and it whizzes at a fair pace and explores current issues.

Sleek but slightly superficial, it's sort of fitting that The Morning Show is one of the flagship programmes that Apple chose to launch its streaming service with.

This is TV about the 1% made by the 1% and produced by the ultimate 1% company, and it's simply less interesting than the true story that it's ripping off.

Great actors and a strong storyline in compelling drama.

It's average. It's fine. Which, frankly, just isn't enough when Apple is staking a big chunk of its launch on it.

When The Morning Show finally gets its setup established, and starts to grapple with the consequences and the meaning of what [Steve Carrell's character] has actually done, the show finds some momentum.

It's a throwback in all the wrong ways.

The Morning Show does not enable the sort of performances that can serve as such transparent vehicles' silver lining.

The Morning Show is okay so far... There's a good show in there, even if it's not all on the screen yet.

It's honestly pretty fun to watch, all glossy and zippy. But it's also fundamentally at war with itself.

The Morning Show dares to execute a very difficult balancing act, with women in off-camera command instead of assuming the positions assigned to them -- by men. The result so far is more than fair, but with continued storytelling perils ahead.
