Too much overacting, too much inexplicable abuse and anger, too severe grudge-holding over bad behavior by teenagers 15 years earlier. As an American, I found the Australian accent a bit difficult but once I got onto it, I was OK. But the series wasn’t. Hard edged middle aged women carping, young men whining - all took away from the story. It was a weak story anyway. Ending was semi satisfying. So much explaining in the last 15 min. Good sound effects and heartwarming fresh music. Performances of this great cast is the key highlight. The critique of the patriarchal structure was sharp. But I have seen much better murder mysteries. I found myself nodding off at times. It’s very slow. But I can watch slow. But the characters in this I found rather boring. They did nothing for me. They were uninteresting to me. I found the brother who survived blah. And his wife blah. There was no one I really cared about. The who done it makes you think a little. Thus the 3 stars.
