For those still itching for more Mare of Easttown, try this twist-filled Australian miniseries -- which scratches the right spot, or the general vicinity anyway. Go to Full Review

It’s not the most gripping entrant in this genre – not helped by the fact that its small-town-big-secrets premise has become ubiquitous – but some powerful acting and an unexpected twist help maintain interest in where this six-part series is heading. Go to Full Review

The Survivors is a study in how raw grief and festering resentment warp everything -- and how surviving a tragedy rarely means getting away unscathed. Go to Full Review

This is a streamlined, very effective series that is able to tell its complex story in six episodes. There are no real red herrings to bloat the narrative, just possible and probable cause. Go to Full Review

The pace might be slow, but the storytelling in this mystery is extremely efficient. Go to Full Review

With strong direction, atmospheric storytelling, and a cast that breathes life into every wounded character, The Survivors is a slow-burning, emotionally resonant whodunit that is well worth your time. Go to Full Review

John H @JohnHaba Nov 16 Believability problems, stretched way too long, but an intriguing basic story. Too much overacting, too much inexplicable abuse and anger, too severe grudge-holding over bad behavior by teenagers 15 years earlier. And it's not believable that Australia police treat a suspect with fairly severe Alzheimer's so abusively. See more Olga N Nov 3 The end of the story was so obvious to me. Moreover, this detective story is so typical. See more Betsy P Oct 11 I was kind of desperate going into this series. Nothing new around, wanted a series so I picked this one. As an American, I found the Australian accent a bit difficult but once I got onto it, I was OK. But the series wasn’t. Hard edged middle aged women carping, young men whining - all took away from the story. It was a weak story anyway. Ending was semi satisfying. So much explaining in the last 15 min. Just an OK show for me. See more Avindu G Sep 28 A very atmospheric drama that makes this sunny beautiful Tasmanian backdrop appear mystifying. Great color tones and cinematography. Good sound effects and heartwarming fresh music. Performances of this great cast is the key highlight. The critique of the patriarchal structure was sharp. It's full of twists and crafty enough to keep the audience guessing till the very end. See more Lynn R Aug 31 I watched bc I saw this got a 100% rating. Sorry. But I have seen much better murder mysteries. I found myself nodding off at times. It’s very slow. But I can watch slow. But the characters in this I found rather boring. They did nothing for me. They were uninteresting to me. I found the brother who survived blah. And his wife blah. There was no one I really cared about. The who done it makes you think a little. Thus the 3 stars. See more tucker s @tucker83014 Aug 30 Excellent series. You can tell it was not produced by Hollywood because: 1) There is actually a plot. 2) The acting is fantastic, and 3) It was clearly not written by someone with a one-digit IQ....
