After a series of nationwide auditions, talented singers are eliminated and the painfully offkey are sent to the finals. The 12 clueless finalists are sent to Hollywood, where they receive a makeover, dance sessions with a choreographer and singing lessons with a voice coach. In front of a live audience, the last singer standing is given the title along with a talent and recording deal worth $100,000.
