Based on the novel and 1979 movie of the same name "Time After Time" follows the adventures of famed science fiction writer H.G. Wells as he pursues one of history's most well-known serial killers, Jack the Ripper. Using a time machine, the two travel from the late 19th century to end up in modern day Manhattan. Once he arrives in New York, H.G. finds himself in awe of a world he never believed possible, but it's not only the advancements of the age that catch his eye... the young and beautiful Jane Walker also captivates him.

Critics Consensus

Time After Time employs its central narrative gimmick to ill effect, leaving a charming cast stranded in a stream of tedious storylines.

I find the ridiculousness of it all to be rather charming, thanks mostly to the two leads' committed performances. Go to Full Review

With Time After Time [Williamson's] struck a balance between honest emotional resonance and salacious violence. Strangely enough, this combination makes this midseason series more charming and enjoyable than one would expect. Go to Full Review

We've already discovered plenty of time-travel shows this season, and instead of sci-fi inquisitiveness or paradoxical twistiness, Time After Time counters with handsome Brits from the past taking off their shirts. Go to Full Review

It's all very Quantum Leap meets Murdoch Mysteries, with nary a hot tub time machine in sight. Go to Full Review

Brandy K 03/27/2020 Really good show! Sad ABC Canceled it. Just found the entire series ALL 12 episodes, 6 which were unaired on CWseed app for FREE. If you haven't seen this show go check it out! The ending is upsetting seeing as it was Canceled but worth the watch. ABC is always good about Canceling decent shows before they give them a chance, boo! See more 08/15/2017 The thumbnail from the Season 1 Trailer shows Freddie Stroma's acting range. World's richest woman should have the most secure building in the world yet people kept breaking in. FBI seem to be very inept. Totally deserved to be cancelled. Watched the 12 episodes just to confirm how crap this was. See more 04/07/2017 Production quality seems high but the plot is very weak. Weak points being: * The forced love story * The logic of how the time machine works (does it freeze and speed up time or does it jump in spacetime...?) * Too many sideplots going on without any idea of what they are about. It's boring if the viewer can't even suspect what might happen. * Cat and mouse game with the Ripper that is just driven by idiot plot. Seriously how many times did they leave him escape out of stupidity?! See more 04/04/2017 I am very upset ABC canceled " Time After Time" I Love This show and I love the characters. Great storyline..... Please someone'give it another chance.....I think it would do Good in summer. How can I see the rest of the episodes???? I won't watch ABC again for taking this away. I hope Match game slips on its arse it was borring and stupid..... See more 03/28/2017 It kinda surprised me ABC released it when glitches like actors positioning marks are visible- its editing 101 and I didn't expect it from a company like ABC. As for the show itself: at times the dialogues made me cringe a bit, female lead character is stupid and there are a lot of goofs if you have some feminist eye in you (i.e she owns a gun- but its 'a gift from daddy"- yet *going with HG* to find Jack she gives him the gun even though he hates those. In a fight scene between the two she just standing there crying and doing nothing). I don't like this show... Pass. See more 03/12/2017 Excellent show with and interesting twist on H.G. Well's Time Machine. See more Read all reviews
