A relationship is like perishable food. It expires at some point; it's just a matter of when. That point may be looming for the couples profiled in "Time's Up." They are engaged in what apparently is called "expiration dating," which means they must face the prospect that their relationship may be in jeopardy because of a new life phase for one or both partners. The scenarios vary from attending different colleges, semesters abroad, job relocations, military deployments and more. Each episode follows a couple as they cope with the pressure of their "expiration date" and documents their lives in the weeks leading up to the dreaded departure. When the time comes for goodbyes, the couple decide to embark on a long-distance romance or go their separate ways.
