Season 6 feels more like the end of an era, bringing to a close this journey of discovery that the Paladins have been on since the day they first discovered a Lion of Voltron hidden away on Earth. Go to Full Review

It's a short season, but the pacing and plotting works, especially since the early episodes take time to explore heady sci-fi concepts and personal relationships before the last few installments rocket to a break-neck pace. Go to Full Review

It's a season that delivers not just some of the best animation of the series, but the most electrifying action sequences on TV this year. Go to Full Review

adi 1 01/29/2022 It provides on all entertainment with drama. Everything's perfect. See more 01/18/2020 This season looked and sounded stunning. But in retrospect, every single one of the problems that exploded in S7 and S8 began here. Dropped plot-threads = we are never told what exactly Operation Kuron was for, Lance and Clone Shiro's interactions from previous seasons goes nowhere, and the Second Colony is completely ignored. The way long-running issues are "resolved" entirely offscreen = Keith gets over his abandonment issues and fully reconnects with his mother during a timeskip. The obliteration of the found family theme = first of all, all the paladins except Keith are ready to abandon "Shiro" when he goes crazy, even though it's really blatantly obvious that he is under mind control. Then, we get an intensely emotional episode where Keith fights tooth and nail to save "Shiro." The very next second of the very next episode have the real Shiro tell us that none of it meant anything, because we shouldn't think of that guy as a person, but rather as a "thing," whose life only had any value insofar his horrible death could provide the convenient tools to save somebody else. Keith might as well have smashed one of the pods and grabbed one of the random bodies and run away without fighting, and the end result would have been exactly the same. What kind of found family story has the heroes just flat out discard a teammate they have been fighting side by side with for months? The Moral Myopia trope = while Lotor did commit a horrible crime, it doesn't change the fact that attacking him caused the reigniting of the war. Removing Lotor as emperor was guaranteed to cause billions of deaths. The heroes acted like well-meaning idiots and caused untold amount of damage to many innocent planets, and of course the narrative never acknowledges it at all. The random introduction of new characters that never get any real characterization and basically just exist to take precious time away from the characters we actually love = Romelle is just a living Deus Ex Machina. She looks cute... and that's about it. Given how coincidental her meeting with Keith was, she could have been replaced with a recording or a hologram message or a letter written in blood. The ugly messages = it was really depressing that the show chose to go with "there is no hope for a survivor of child abuse, you are doomed to be just as bad as your parents. Only people with good parental figures can be good!" See more 09/24/2019 Shiro and Keith's relationship is the best. See more 07/11/2019 Kuron and Lotor deserved better. If at least the next seasons had given them a bit of compassion, S6 wouldn't be so bad. But once you know how they end up, it's too upsetting. See more 03/31/2019 Just one thing about the end: WOW incredible. See more 01/21/2019 This season was phenomenal! I absolutely love the direction this story is going and gosh, the relationship between Shiro and Keith, and Lance and Allura, they're just such a joy to see and so powerful...they're so inspiring See more Read all reviews
