Wizards Tales of Arcadia is a fun series with some great moments, but feels more like an appendix to previous shows, which is a pity because had they given it more time it really could have been the best of series so far.

Del Toro's hand guides the series into creative avenues without ever being off the rails.

Aug 12, 2020 | Full Review…

Del Toro wants everyone, even the adults, to get something out of [Wizards: Tales of Arcadia]. This makes it an adventure worth taking, like any great fairy tale.

As a result of everything the it's trying to cram in, it's not entirely surprising that Krel is the only character to show up from 3Below... Of course, even with those flaws, if you've watched the other Tales of Arcadia series, Wizards is not to be missed

Aug 7, 2020 | Full Review…

Everything about the world is fully realized, with incredible detail, and things like the furriness of Archie feel wholly believable and tactile. It really looks exceptional, and as the visual culmination of the franchise so far, it is hard to top.

It's a tremendous-looking show full of imagination, scale, and detail. If you had to imagine an epic conclusion to Trollhunters, this is pretty much exactly what it'd look like.

Aug 7, 2020 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

With plenty of battles, action, emotional scenes, and stunning imagery, Wizards can be a little dark, but is a thrilling family-friendly semi-conclusion to the Tales of Arcadia trilogy.

Aug 6, 2020 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

Filled with action, magic, girl power, and even life lessons, Wizards perfectly collides the three worlds in the best way imaginable. A wild & fun ride that fans will love!

Audience Reviews for Wizards: Tales of Arcadia: Season 1

Showrunner Marc Guggenheim demonstrates how up-to-the-task he is at telling 20 episodes' worth of story into 10 whilst the series also has really stunning animation for a streaming-service, fun action sequences, good voice acting and adding more to this universe's lore. Also, I'm glad the writers decided to heavily downplay 3Below's presence, focusing only on what's important to Trollhunters, what with that show being the weakest of the Tales of Arcadia trilogy. Though I couldn't handle Steve. He got on my nerves quickly, ruining more poignant scenes and having no major effect on the story other than to justify having Lancelot's character model just be a tall, bearded version of him. Who isn't his ancestor. Seriously, did the writers have any idea what to do with him? His relationship with Aja was one of 3Below's better aspects, giving some much-needed character development and here he becomes an outright dimwit who somehow never gets himself killed. Apart from how much I hated him, there's also one moment in the final episode, that, while having certain effects that prevent it from being a complete cop-out, I felt contradicted heavily with what Trollhunters kept saying. I'm keeping things as vague as possible but anybody who's seen Trollhunters can probably see what I'm getting at. All in all, Wizards did a really good job managing to pack in a 20-episode narrative into half that episode count and does a good job concluding certain arcs in the Tales of Arcadia trilogy whilst raising anticipation for the upcoming movie that will serve as the ACTUAL grand finale to the Netflix-DreamWorks/Guillermo del Toro saga.

Wizards is the final installment of the Tales of Arcadia franchise. A nonstop rollercoaster of magic, wonder, and emotion, it introduces us to Douxie "Hisirdoux" Casperan as he seeks his mentor, the master wizard Merlin's approval, as well as introduces us to the rich mythology of the Tales of Arcadia while setting up the movie. Definitely worth a watch, especially if you're a fan of Trollhunters.

While entertaining and full of magic, I can´t help but feel that the sense of both urgency and fateful consequences was lackluster in the plot. Also, a bit more details on worldbuilding would have been more appreciated. Still, it was entertaining, and Del Toro did a great job. But I wouldn´t watch it again.

I really like half troll Jim and I'm glad we got to see more Merlin, but I'm not crazy about his understudy. I already forgot his name tbh and I almost know everyone from all 3 series. But I love the world Tales of Arcadia has made!

    Awesome sauceeeeeee!!!!!

A beautiful, emotional and action packed adventure. The story of Douxie as he tries to prove himself as a wizard to Merlin is beautiful and an amazing journey of self-discovery. And there is enough humor and drama to keep kids and adults on the edge of their seat!

Loved it. I want more episodes.
  • Aug 10, 2020
Action packed, beautiful animation, and neatly ties all three stories together. This was an amazing end to the trilogy and left me still wanting more and more. Patiently waiting for the movie now.

Es una gran culminación para estás grandes historias, la animación nunca defraudó y no me queda más que esperar por la película que sale en 2021
