A.B. Quintanilla
Producer, songwriter and musician A.B. Quintanilla was born in Toppenish, Washington. He was raised in Texas, where he learned to play the guitar and bass. He became part of the band Los Dinos in 1980, alongside his father and his sister Suzette. He went on to also become his sister Selena's producer, co-writing some of her hit songs. After Selena's tragic death, he produced a tribute song for her, which went on to win a Premios Lo Nuestro award for Best Song of the Year in 1996. Quintanilla created the group Kumbia Kings in 1999, mixing cumbia and pop music. He left the project in 2006, later founding the group Kumbia All Starz, which became massively popular in South America.
