Television producer Al Lowenstein began working in television in 1976 as an associate producer on the hugely successful musical-variety program "The Sonny and Cher Show." In the early '80s he began producing television specials such as "Olivia Newton-John: Hollywood Nights." His first major success came in 1989 with the iconic sitcom "Roseanne." Created by Matt Williams and produced with Roseanne Barr, the series ran from 1988 to 1997, winning three Golden Globes. After leaving the show in 1996, Lowenstein began producing the comedy series "Goode Behavior," working on the show until 1997. Continuing to work in comedy, he then produced "The Gregory Hines Show" and several episodes of "Norm," starring comic Norm MacDonald. In 2005 Lowenstein brought his production talents to the critically acclaimed sitcom "The War at Home."
