Bob Fraser

Producer, actor, and writer Bob Fraser is best known for his work on the 1980s sitcom "Benson." Although he was born in New York City, Fraser began his acting career far away from the cultural mecca: on stage in Illinois. But he returned to make his Broadway debut in 1966 in the play "The March March" and continued to work steadily on stage for the next few years before moving to Los Angeles. In 1977, Fraser began a writing career with an episode of "The Love Boat," which led to many other opportunities including writing for the culture-clash comedy "Condo" and the short-lived "Phyl & Mikhy." Fraser followed with the most notable project of his career, the series "Benson," in 1980. In addition to writing for the show, he played the role of corrupt Senator Leonard Tyler for six seasons; he was also, variously, a producer, show runner, and director. Following the success of "Benson," Fraser started his own production company with partner Rob Dames; together they launched the long-running game show "Wipeout." In 1988 Fraser started work on the saccharine family sitcom "Full House" as a writer and a supervising producer.
